Take on the role of a pilot and fly away in the mightiest machines. Whether you choose the super-fast fighter jet, the fire and rescue helicopter or the ninja plane, you will experience the most exciting adventures in the air. Take a seat in the cockpit and zoom off with one of the many LEGO® airplane and helicopter sets. These are our seven favorites
Take on loads of adventures with this transport truck with the city's new rescue helicopter! The robust truck with articulated low loader and fold-out warning lights is ready to drive to the rescue base or race directly to the emergency situation. Park, unload the helicopter, put the pilot in the cockpit and take off while the pilot handles the situation on the ground. The helicopter has rotating rotors and a storage space for the stretcher.
Apparently hot dogs can be too hot too! The hot dog vendor burned his treats and now his trash can is on fire. High time to call in the LEGO® City fire brigade and fully equipped helicopter to extinguish the fire. The helicopter has rotating rotors and a storage space where the firefighters can store all their belongings. Once the situation is under control, a reward awaits the firefighter: a delicious hot dog – but one that isn't burned!
Young children will experience a crazy flying adventure together with the DUPLO® father and daughter when they go out to see their family and friends. Help them board and remove the top of the plane to play inside or explore the airport with the opening door, rotating control tower and baggage slide. All you have to do now is land safely!
Help! The power plant is on fire! Fortunately, the LEGO® Rescue Helicopter is nearby to save the day. Children can stack the LEGO flames on top of each other to create one large fire that they can then extinguish by shooting water elements with the cannons on the helicopter. This LEGO helicopter set includes a super-fast fire engine so that Clemmons, the hero from the LEGO City TV series, can zoom to the emergency situation both on wheels and through the air.
The crooks have to be careful, because the helicopter from the LEGO® Police Helicopter Chase set is already arriving to rescue an emergency. With the LEGO City police helicopter, all-terrain vehicle and crime fighters Sam Grizzled and his partner, children have everything they need to catch the crooks as they try to run away with their truck and motorbike.
The LEGO® passenger plane is ready to land. The eight different minifigures, including singer Poppy Starr from the LEGO City Adventures TV series, are ready to go on board. The huge plane has room for the pilot and passengers, and there is even room for Poppy's red convertible.

How do planes stay in the air?
There comes a time when your little one is no longer satisfied with your imitation of the sound of an airplane engine. His curiosity will win and he will want to know more about this mystery. A quick and simple answer: An airplane's engines or propellers create pressure that causes the plane to move forward. The wings are tilted so that they push air downward as the plane moves forward, causing the plane to go up. (Don't mention it.)
How do you build your own plane or helicopter?
Now that you can explain to your child how an airplane stays in the air (see above), he might want to put his newly acquired airplane knowledge into practice and rebuild one of his previously built airplanes. Or maybe he even wants to make his own plane with rocks, paper, sticks or other materials. Find out what other airplane enthusiasts have created!
