My child has never built LEGO® models before. Do children need help learning to build?

Each set includes easy-to-follow building instructions with detailed, step-by-step images in bright colors. If your child is building with LEGO® for the first time, some help may be needed at first, but before you know it, your child will be playing and building completely independently!

What is a perfect first LEGO Friends set?

If your child is just starting to build with LEGO bricks, choose a smaller set with 100-200 pieces, such as 41681 Boscamper  or the 41677 Waterfall in the Forest – both popular toys and easy starter sets for your new LEGO builder.

What is Heartlake City?

Heartlake City is the home of the LEGO Friends. Located around the heart-shaped lake, the city has everything you can find in any other city in the world, only on a mini-doll scale. In the center you will find office buildings, a hospital, shops, hotels, the park and of course the beach of the lake. Outside the city, LEGO Friends characters can ride horses, camp, sail, hike (and stay up late).

What can my child play with LEGO Friends?

Heartlake City is full of places that kids recognize from their real lives: homes, workplaces, schools and their favorite places to eat, be creative or do fun things with friends. Children can role-play and explore the world through everyday scenarios, mysteries, challenges or adventures. There are shops, stables and veterinary clinics where they can care for animals, a race track, sports facilities, secret tree clubhouses, arts and crafts rooms and, of course, cool vehicles for all their daring missions.

What do the LEGO Friends girls do?

Depending on the circumstances, the five Friends use their strengths and creativity to always save the situation. They are caregivers or construction workers, cake bakers or pilots, singers or scientists, artists or animal trainers, and everything in between. Whatever they (or your child) can come up with. In the LEGO Friends mini-films and videos, each of the five main characters discover and develop new hobbies, talents and interests. Sometimes they don't succeed, but life doesn't have to be perfect. It's about using what you have, being curious, helping and encouraging each other and going all the way.

What's in a LEGO Friends set?

Bricks, a booklet with building instructions (or several booklets, depending on the size of the model), and perhaps decorative stickers for the model. Each box is packed with vibrant colors, fun, relatable characters of all ages and backgrounds that invite role-play and teamwork, and age-appropriate, themed accessories for endless play possibilities. Kids can build, rebuild and combine with all other LEGO sets to create anything they can imagine.

I have lost/missing a part from the LEGO set I purchased. What should I do?

It happens to everyone sometimes: that important little stone has been sucked up by the vacuum cleaner/disappeared under the sofa cushions/accidentally left at school... Or, in very rare cases, a LEGO piece can escape from our production line and so on. won't end up in the LEGO set... But don't worry. You can a replacement part reorder here.

How do you clean a LEGO Friends set?

If the set is already built, you can use a duster to clean it without having to take the set down. If you want to clean or disinfect loose stones or parts, you can wash them by hand at 30° Celsius with a sponge or soft brush and a mild detergent. Then rinse them, pat them dry and let them air dry. Done.

Can my child combine the LEGO Friends bricks with other LEGO sets?

Yes! That makes it so much fun to play with LEGO bricks. All elements of the LEGO system fit together, whether they were made in 1958 or in 2018. Everything can be used together to build, whether your child wants to expand Heartlake City with other LEGO Friends sets, a police station or a LEGO City fire station, or a NINJAGO® Spinjitzu studio. And why stop at a city when they can also build provinces, countries or even entire worlds?

How long does it take to build a LEGO Friends set?

That mainly depends on how much time your child spends playing while building. Small sets can be built in a very short time. Larger sets come in numbered bags so your child can build the pieces separately. There is no right or wrong way to build a LEGO Friends set. Some children prefer to build everything before playing with it, while others prefer to pause the building experience occasionally when a piece is ready to play with. You never know when your child will have a fun play idea and the whole process is often just as much fun as playing with the finished set.

Can you build other things with LEGO Friends sets?

EVERYTHING your child can imagine. The building instructions in the box provide your child with all the help they need to build what is shown on the box. But if they want, your kids can turn their treehouse into a rocket, a school into a boat or whatever they want to play with.
